The Wildlife Trusts and Northumberland Wildlife Trust have bought part of the historic Rothbury Estate.
They are launching a £30 million appeal to secure the entire 3,800-hectare site.
This marks a significant milestone, aiming to transform the estate into a flagship for nature recovery.
Located in Northumberland’s Simonside Hills, the estate features diverse landscapes and treasured wildlife, including red squirrels, curlews, and mountain bumblebees.
“This is a unique opportunity for nature, people, and future generations,” said Northumberland Wildlife Trust CEO Mike Pratt.
