This innovative project, led by London School of Economics students Harold Craston and Kirsty Kenny, aims to utilize public spaces effectively.
Unveiled on Tottenham Court Road, the first of six solar-powered boxes has been painted green and fitted with solar panels.
Users can charge their phones for free while enjoying engaging advertisements on reinforced screens.
The project, which won awards for its sustainability efforts, can charge up to 100 phones a day, providing a 20% battery boost in just 10 minutes.
