A groundbreaking NHS trial is helping children with severe food allergies live without fear of life-threatening reactions.
The £2.5m study uses oral immunotherapy (OIT). Children as young as two receive small, daily doses of allergens like peanuts and milk under strict medical supervision.
This approach trains their bodies to tolerate these allergens safely. So far, children have shown remarkable progress.
For instance, 11-year-old Thomas can now eat six peanuts a day, and five-year-old Grace drinks 120ml of milk daily.
