Finnish researchers have discovered a groundbreaking way to produce food virtually out of thin air.
The team at Lappeenranta University of Technology and the VTT Technical Research Centre uses electricity and carbon dioxide to create single-cell protein.
This eco-friendly process can provide food for both animals and humans without harming the environment.
Powered by renewable energy, the method eliminates the need for fertilizers and pesticides, and it doesn’t produce greenhouse gases.
“In the future, this technology could help combat famine in deserts and other areas,” says VTT’s principal researcher Juha-Pekka Pitkänen.
