Tiger population in Bangladesh’s Sundarbans shows hopeful growth

Bangladesh’s Bengal tiger population is on the rise, according to the latest tiger census.

Conducted using camera traps across 50% of the Sundarbans, the survey revealed at least 125 adult tigers in the region.

This marks a 9.65% increase since 2018 and a 17.92% rise from 2015.

The Sundarbans, the world’s only mangrove habitat for tigers, supports a thriving ecosystem with 330 plant species, 400 fish species, and diverse wildlife.
