Pakistan’s green triumph: 1 Billion trees planted in 2 years!

Pakistan has achieved a remarkable environmental milestone by planting 1 billion trees in just two years.

This massive reforestation effort, called the “Billion Tree Tsunami,” took place in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province and restored 350,000 hectares of forests and degraded land.

Led by Imran Khan and his political party, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, this initiative is part of a global push to combat deforestation.

The campaign exceeded its target ahead of schedule, contributing to the international Bonn Challenge, which aims to restore 150 million hectares of forest by 2020.

The benefits are significant. Reforested areas help to mitigate climate change, prevent floods, and restore ecosystems.
