In a heartwarming rescue off the Dominican Republic, diver Raffa Wake-Valais Sarbach saved a juvenile stingray entangled in a ghost fishing line. The 37-year-old divemaster and his partner spotted the distressed creature with a hook lodged in its mouth.
Raffa worked for almost five minutes with skill and patience to free the ray without causing harm. Fortunately, the timely intervention spared the stingray from potential peril, allowing it to swim away unharmed. The heroic act also saved three other fish caught in the line, marking a triumph for marine life in the clear waters of Bayahibe.
