In a heartwarming gesture, Jack Anderson, 90, and his daughter, Wynne Chisholm, have donated their $44 million cattle ranch to the University of Calgary’s Faculty of Veterinary Medicine.
The 19,000-acre W.A. Ranches will now serve as a unique learning resource for students studying animal medicine, ethical farming, and sustainable agriculture.
The donation, the largest ranch gift to a university in North American history, ensures jobs for the ranch’s five full-time workers and allows the family to visit.
“This gift will transform teaching and research at our faculty,” said Dean Dr. Baljit Singh.
