In a promising stride towards carbon neutrality, Toyota Motor Europe (TME) and VDL Groep have joined forces to spearhead the European market for heavy-duty hydrogen trucks. The collaboration involves retrofitting existing trucks with Toyota’s fuel cell modules, en route to greening logistics.
By employing hydrogen technology, these trucks hold the potential to revolutionize road transportation, boasting heavier payloads and swift refueling akin to diesel vehicles. VDL will roll out the first fuel cell truck by summer 2023, paving the way for eco-friendly road logistics and propelling Toyota closer to its 2040 carbon-neutral target.
