Lidl GB has introduced a pioneering recycling initiative, rolling out a city-wide bottle return scheme in Glasgow. Customers can now earn unlimited cash rewards by returning empty PET plastic and aluminium drinks containers at any of the 21 participating stores.
Unlike traditional deposit schemes, Lidl’s program imposes no upfront deposit on products, ensuring a hassle-free experience. Shoppers receive a generous 5p reward per eligible item returned, redeemable towards their purchases or donation to charity.
This eco-friendly endeavor aims to recycle 10.5 tonnes of plastic and aluminium monthly, contributing significantly to waste reduction efforts. Lidl’s commitment to sustainability and customer engagement shines through this innovative scheme, promoting a greener future for all.
