Researchers from the Thackeray Wildlife Foundation made a recent discovery in Tamil Nadu, India.
They found two new gecko species. One of these geckos is named Cnemaspis vangoghi because its skin resembles Van Gogh’s painting “Starry Night.”
These geckos, about 1.4 inches long, thrive in elevated areas, showcasing vibrant activity at dawn and dusk on rocks and trees.
The discovery adds to the rich tapestry of nature’s wonders, echoing past namings like Cannopilus picassoi and Blastobotrys davincii.
