Believed to be around 1,000 CE, this extraordinary platform accommodated up to 26 dancers and produced booming footsteps like thunder, thanks to its specially designed hollow structure and resonant materials.
Situated near a temple dedicated to the Incan god of lightning, the finding suggests that dance played a significant role in ancient Andean rituals.
